AEA Sessions: The Lemon Trees – The Briar and the Rose

Singers Kathleen Grace, Leslie Stevens and Jamie Drake perform as vocal trio, The Lemon Trees, in this AEA Session. Armed with just an N22 and an R88, this beautiful a cappella performance is a stunning example of what can be done with just a couple of ribbons.

About The Artist

Songwriters Kathleen Grace, Leslie Stevens and Jamie Drake have been friends and collaborators on the LA music scene for many years. The trio first performed Grace’s arrangement of the Tom Waits song “The Briar And The Rose” on on her 2014 album No Place To Fall produced by Sheldon Gomberg (Lucinda Williams, Ben Harper, Charlie Musselwhite). They have since performed works by Ryan Adams and Linda Ronstadt along with their own original music. Their group “The Lemon Trees” was formed in late 2014 and this is their first official recording featuring their new a cappella version of the Tom Wait’s composition.
